Privacy policy

Effective October 23, 2026

PocketBench is a bookkeeping app for truck drivers, made by 13753158 Canada Inc. ("PocketBench", "we"). This policy explains what we collect, why, where it is kept and the choices you have. Questions: support@pocketbench.net.

We do not collect your location, contacts or advertising IDs, we do not show ads, and we do not sell or rent your information. We never ask for your SIN or banking passwords.

Reading receipts and statements

Receipts and pay statements are read on your own device. If PocketBench's AI reading is switched on, the image or text of the document you are scanning is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) only to read it. It is not used to train models, and the result is returned to your account.

Where your information is kept

Your account, books and files are stored by our database provider (Supabase) in Canada (Canada Central region). The website itself is delivered by Netlify. Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our providers. Access is limited by database rules so that each person can see only their own records.

Sharing with an accountant

Your books stay private unless you sign PocketBench's consent to share them with a partner accountant. You choose the tax years. Only the accountant assigned to you, after we check their licence, can open your records, and every time they do it is logged and shown to you. You can withdraw consent at any time in the app; access ends immediately. The accountant may keep copies they are required by law to keep (generally six years). The accountant pays PocketBench a referral fee; this is explained in the consent.

Who else sees it

Only our service providers above, under contract and only to run PocketBench, and authorities if the law requires it. PocketBench staff do not open your books, except when you ask for support and allow it.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, your books, files, consents and messages are deleted from our systems within 30 days (backups roll off within a further 30 days). We keep the security log of who opened your file, without your books, where the law requires it. Your own copies (exports, backups on your device) are yours to keep or delete.

Your choices and rights

Children

PocketBench is for working adults and is not directed to anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
